Hi there! I’m Olivia, and welcome to Dinner Ideas At Home. I’m happily married and have three amazing kids. They’re 4, 7, and 10, and keeping up with them is always an adventure!
We love making funny faces out of pancakes during breakfast. The giggles and syrupy messes are so worth it. Sometimes, we host mini pizza parties and let the kids decorate their own pizzas with all sorts of toppings.
One quirky thing about me is my love for mismatched socks. I never seem to wear a matching pair, and my family thinks it’s hilarious! They often tease that my socks are as colorful as our family dinners.
Honestly, my family is my heart. Meals are more than just food here; they’re laughter, chaos, and love all wrapped up together. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

How I Got the Idea to Start My Blog
It all began with my kiddos insisting, “Mom, your pancake faces and pizza parties should be shared!” They loved our kitchen escapades so much that I thought, maybe there’s more to it. Their excitement about our meals really inspired me to start sharing.
When I first considered starting a blog, I was clueless about how to get going. The idea of writing and keeping a blog seemed huge, and I was unsure about how to actually do it. It felt a bit intimidating, and I almost didn’t pursue it.
But then my wonderful husband chimed in with, “Olivia, you’ve got this unique sock style, and you know how to whip up family fun—just share it!” His encouragement was the push I needed to jump in and try something new, and it made all the difference.
The real struggle came with figuring out how to be consistent and taking decent food photos. Capturing our pancake art and pizza toppings wasn’t easy at first. But over time, I got better, and those were valuable lessons that I enjoyed learning.
Choosing Pinterest as my platform felt like a no-brainer. It’s perfect for connecting with food lovers and sharing recipes. It’s where colorful and fun mealtime magic meets people who cherish it just as much as we do.
Despite the bumps here and there, I kept at it. My family’s constant support, coupled with my passion for sharing our adventures, kept me going. It’s been a blast, and I’m genuinely thrilled to share a piece of our world with everyone!
My Routine, Recipe Selection, and Photography
In my busy day, I always carve out time for cooking. Mornings are for meal planning, and I often choose meals that excite my kids or match the season. Each cooking day feels like a tiny adventure in our home!
When I pick recipes to share, I focus on meals that are easy, yummy, and loved by my family. I like to try out new flavors or fresh ingredients, especially if they catch my eye at the store. It keeps our dinners fun and exciting!
I really enjoy preparing the recipes. I pay close attention to how flavors come together and make sure each dish has that perfect look before I even think of taking photos. It’s all about making the food shine!
Food photography is such a fun challenge for me! I always try to use natural light and explore different angles to capture the food’s beauty. It’s a little game I play, trying to make my dishes look as tasty as they are!
